Earn GHA Credits with Century Ride
Spring 2008
Celebrate human movement with a hundred Penn State students and faculty riding a hundred miles on June 27, 28, and 29, 2008 on the Great Allegheny Passage trail (http://www.atatrail.org/). You don't need any special equipment or skill-just a desire to challenge yourself with this undertaking.
On this ride you will pass through spectacular water gaps and historic tunnels, taking full advantage of the railroad engineering expertise that always found the easiest grade. The entire route is on a private right-of-way that's safe, clean, quiet, and free of motor traffic.
Penn State students who participate can earn 3 health and physical activity (GHA) credits. The ride will feature two groups-an endurance group that will traverse the 100-mile distance in one day and a fitness group that will cover the distance in two days, with overnight camping in Ohiopyle along the way. Both groups will participate in educational/fitness classes held on campus during the spring 2008 semester (see dates below).
Come join us, and earn more than just credits-earn the respect and admiration of the cycling community by completing this challenging ride.
