Location and Accommodations

On-Campus Housing
University residence hall accommodations will be available from June 21 through July 18; the cost per person/per night (double occupancy) is $42.50. You may indicate a preferred roommate when you register; otherwise a roommate will be assigned. A limited number of single rooms will be available at a cost of $63.00 per night. If you request a single but none are available when your request is received, you will be assigned to a double room with a roommate. Bed linens, soap, and a towel will be provided, but you should bring your own clothes hangers, alarm clock, and other personal items.

Meals
Hot breakfast service at the Pollock Dining Hall, Monday through Friday, is included in the per-night fee for campus residence hall guests. You may also buy a meal plan that includes lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner, Saturday and Sunday for a fee of $308 for a single session or $616 for both sessions. If you do not buy the meal plan, lunch and dinner are your responsibility.

To reserve your room and/or purchase a meal plan, complete and submit the reservation form below by June 5, 2009.

Off-Campus Housing

Travel

By air: The State College/University Park Airport is located near the institute site. Call 814-865-5511 or visit http://www.UniversityParkAirport.com for information on flights. Rental cars and limousine and taxi services are available at the airport.

By car: The University Park campus is located within driving distance of many major cities, including Harrisburg (1.5 hrs., 90 mi.), Pittsburgh (3 hrs., 137 mi.), Philadelphia (3.5 hrs., 194 mi.), Baltimore (3.5 hrs., 155 mi.), Washington, D.C. (4 hrs., 190 mi.), New York City (5 hrs., 250 mi.), and Toronto (6.5 hrs., 304 mi.).

For International Participants

Please check with your local travel agent for current schedules and international connections available through the following international airports with direct commuter service to State College (SCE): Dulles (IAD), Washington, D.C., and Detroit (DTW), Michigan. Connections are also possible through Philadelphia and New York airports. Note: To assist you, the airports' reference codes are indicated in parentheses.

State College is also on the main east west route of both the Greyhound and Fullington Trailways bus lines.

The campus is located in the center of the state, at the intersection of routes 26 and 322, fifteen miles south of Interstate 80. If you plan to drive to campus, a map and directions will be sent with your confirmation. In addition, a map has been placed on this Web page.

Visa and Other Documents

You are responsible for all travel arrangements, including procurement of visas if necessary and acquisition of U.S. currency sufficient for your stay. Assistance in obtaining documentation forms is available at U.S. embassies.
