2005 Award Recipients
Vice President's Award for Learning and Community
The Vice President's Award for Learning and Community honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing lifelong learning and create a supportive environment for learning and work. Individuals and teams are eligible.
The 2005 recipient of the Outreach Vice President's Award for Learning and Community is the Women's Agricultural Network. The team members, all from the College of Agricultural Sciences, are Dr. Mary Barbercheck, professor of entomology; Dr. Kathryn Brasier, assistant professor, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology; Dr. Jill Findeis, professor, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology; Dr. Nancy Ellen Kiernan, program evaluator, Cooperative Extension administration; Linda Moist, senior extension associate; Dr. Carolyn Sachs, professor, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology; Ann Stone, staff assistant; and Dr. Amy Trauger, postdoctoral researcher, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology.
Vice President's Award for Leadership
The Vice President's Award for Leadership honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who provide exemplary leadership and contributions in the organization and demonstrate the highest overall standards of performance. Individuals and teams are eligible.
The 2005 recipient of the Outreach Vice President's Award for Leadership is Dr. Wayne D. Smutz, senior director of continuing and professional education, Continuing and Distance Education.
Vice President's Award for Excellent Service
The Vice President's Award for Excellent Service honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who consistently demonstrate commitment to outstanding customer service. Individuals and teams are eligible.
The 2005 recipient of the Outreach Vice President's Award for Excellent Service is Penn State McKeesport Continuing Education. The team members are Dr. Susan Lewis, director of continuing education; Debra Killmeyer, area representative; Anthony Mitchell, area representative; Roxanne Daykon, program aide; Melanie Brletic, staff assistant; and JeanMarie Jacob, program assistant.
Vice President's Award for Entrepreneurship
The Vice President's Award for Entrepreneurship honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who break new ground through innovative programs, products, services, or approaches designed to uniquely meet the needs of the work unit or clientele. Individuals and teams are eligible.
The 2005 recipient of the Outreach Vice President's Award for Entrepreneurship is Dr. Rick L. Day, associate professor of soil science and environmental information systems, College of Agricultural Sciences.
Vice President's Award for Diversity
The Vice President's Award for Diversity recognizes Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees for outstanding support for diversity in the workplace and among those Outreach serves. Individuals and teams are eligible.
The 2005 recipient of the Outreach Vice President's Award for Diversity is Robyn G. Robinson, coordinator of faculty affairs, Penn State World Campus.
