2007 Award Recipients
Vice President’s Award for Diversity
Outreach’s Definition of Diversity: “Diversity is the existence of a wide range of individual differences present in any group of people.” Outreach values diversity and works to put our individual differences to work for the common good. The Vice President’s Award for Diversity honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who support and appreciate diversity in the workplace and among those Outreach serves.
The 2007 recipient of the Outreach Vice President’s Award for Diversity is Kathleen S. Karchner, Conferences and Institutes.
Vice President’s Award for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity
The Vice President’s Award for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who break new ground through creative solutions to problems; innovative programs, products, or services; or process improvements uniquely designed to meet the needs of the work unit or clientele.
The 2007 recipient of the Outreach Vice President’s Award for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity is the The VOD Squad. Members of the team include:Nathan Tobey, Tom Wilson, Greg Peterson, Amy Krasinski, Jeff Hughes, Jeff Luck, Cece Merkel and Kate Domico.
Vice President’s Award for Learning and Community
The Vice President’s Award for Learning and Community honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing lifelong learning and create a supportive environment for education as a part of our professional work environment.
The 2007 recipient of the Outreach Vice President’s Award for Learning and Community is The Outreach Help Desk. Members of the team include: Jason Gilham,David Dorman, James Sechrengost, Steven Welshonse, Gregory Shehan, David Holsworth, Matthew Thompson and Thomas Hall.
Vice President’s Award for Leadership
Regardless of our position in Outreach, we each have a responsibility as individuals and members of teams to create an environment that enables every employee to advance the Outreach vision. The Vice President’s Award for Leadership honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who exhibit a commitment to excellence in doing the good work of the organization; who inspire and motivate others to succeed; and who demonstrate tenacity and integrity in advancing the promise and vision of Outreach.
The 2007 recipient of the Outreach Vice President’s Award for Leadership is Dr. Jane A. Owens, Director, Statewide Continuing Education.
Vice President’s Award for Excellent Service
The Vice President’s Award for Excellent Service honors Outreach faculty, staff, and technical-service employees who consistently provide excellent service to internal and external clientele, including, but not limited to, customers, students, constituents, faculty, campuses, communities, and co-workers.
The 2007 recipient of the Outreach Vice President’s Award for Excellent Service is Lynne S. Johnson, World Campus.
